If you like your milk sweeter, add a spoon of honey to it. Honey by itself is a natural cure for insomnia.</li>

<li>Do you like <strong>chamomile</strong>? I don’t really like the taste to be honest, but it is a very good natural treatment for pretty much everything. It is almost like natural aspirin. You can use chamomile for stomach problems, for calming your nerves, and both of these can be caused for lack of sleep. You can put a spoon of honey in chamomille too if you like the taste better. I know, chamomile is an aquired taste and not for everyobdy.</li>

<li><strong>Aromatherapy</strong> &#8211; I know this sounds for some people a bit ‘out there’, but it works, and it’s very easy to use too. Nowadays you can find a small vial of any natural oils at herbalists, drug stores and even in some grocery stores. Try to apply 2-3 drops of lavender to your temples, or massage a few drops of lavender or chamomile oil in the neck and shoulders before going to sleep. Also in your bath water add a few drops of lavender, or even better &#8211; a cup of lavender tea. Works wonders.</li>

But if your lack of sleep is chronic, you might encounter some long term effects which can prove to be really dangerous.<span id="more-6"></span></p>
<p>1. The first long term lack of sleep effect is getting various heart diseases.</p>
<p>2. Diminished concentration and memory lapses is another nasty effect of a prolonged lack of sleep.</p>
<p>3. Depression is something that people automatically associate with lack of sleep, and with good reason.</p>
<p>4. Sadly, a prolonged lack of sleep can even cause death.</p>
<p>5. Hallucinations and psychotic episodes have been also noticed in various cases of insomnia.</p>
